REEVES’S MUNTJAC

Origin: Taiwan (South- Est Asia)

Family: Cervidae

Lifespan: 10 to 15 years

Nutrition diet: Herbivore (grass, hay, cereals…)

Reproduction: After 7 months of gestation the female gives birth to 1 or 2 young ones.

Description: The muntjac barks for multiple reasons that is why it’s sometimes called the barking deer. Males have long “tusks” (downward-pointing canine teeth) and short horns. It measures about 1 meter long and weighs 10 to 18 kg. Muntjacs are quite solitary and nocturnal; they are used to hiding in bushes and long grass during the daytime.
