DWARF ZEBUS

Origin: Sri Lanka

Family: Bovidae

Lifespan: 20 to 25 years

Nutrition diet: Herbivore (grass, hay, cereals…)

Reproduction: After 9 months of gestation, the female gives birth to one young called a calf.

Description: Dwarf zebus have shiny and neat fur, they exist in all colours. One of its distinguishing features is its calorific bump which helps him get through lean years. They have an excellent sense of smell, direction and a strong instinct of protection. The herd is very solidary and only leaves its usual environment if it has to. It’s bred for its milk, meat, skin and work. But let’s not forget that these animals in their country of origin are sacred and respected!
