Camelus bactrianus

Origin: central Asia

Lifespan: 60 to 70 years

Reproduction: After 13 and ½ months of maternity the female (she-camel) gives birth to a young (every two years.

Nutrition diet: Herbivore (grass, hay and cereals…)

Description: An adult camel measures 1.80m upto the shoulders and 2.30m upto the bumps. It can run 65km/h. The bumps carry calorific stocks, full of fat contents. It can go without drinking and eating for a month under very cold or very hot temperatures. The camel’s call is a bray.
