Lifespan: 15 to 25 years
Reproduction: After 11 months of maternity the female alpaca gives birth to one offspring: the cria. This reproduction period is done lying down like the other camelids.
Nutrition diet: Herbivore (grass, hay and cereals…)
Description: It’s a gregarious animal which means it lives within a group. The alpaca comes in lots of different colours. They are used as packsaddles, for company and for their fiber that has a very good quality. They are very sociable, intelligent and communicate by a humming sound.
